This year's Canterbury Festival takes place from 15 Oct - 5 Nov 2016. The Box Office will open:

  • Priority Booking on Monday 18 July
  • General Booking Monday 1 August

Tickets for Festival events can be booked securely on this website 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Simply navigate to the event you would like to book tickets for, and click the Book Now button.  You will be asked to register your address details as a new user first, then you can proceed with your booking.

There are also online booking facilities at www.thegulbenkian.co.uk for Colyer-Fergusson Hall performances and www.canterbury.ac.uk/arts-and-culture for performances at St Gregory's Centre for Music.


Online booking information for Friends of the Festival

Friends of the Festival who use online booking for the first time during the priority booking period will first need to activate their account, entering the details they were sent with their brochure. On clicking Book Now, you will be sent to a log-in page, where these details will be requested. 

Friends of the Festival who have used online booking previously only require their email address and password and can proceed by clicking a book now button next to their chosen event. A reminder of the password can be requested at point of login. If you have any problems please call 01227 787787.

The Festival Box Office will accept telephone bookings Mon-Sat 9am-6pm. Also open Sun 9 and 23 October (11am-5pm).

Reservations are provisional until payment is received and are released after 4 working days, please quote your booking reference when paying.

Tickets for events at the Gulbenkian (Colyer-Fergusson Hall) and Canterbury Christ Church University (St Gregory's Centre for Music) can be booked directly with the theatres - full Box Office details listed below.

All events can be booked on the booking form contained within the Festival brochure, which must be returned to the Festival Box Office at least one week prior to the event.

Booking Fees Apply

The Marlowe Theatre’s Booking Fee Policy means that ALL tickets are subject to a booking fee.

By phone, post and in person: £1 per ticket booking fee. Online: 75p per ticket booking fee. The maximum fee you will be charged when booking by phone, post or in person is £8. Booking fees are unlimited online. Postage is £1. Group bookings of 15 or more tickets for a show are exempt from this charge.

The booking fee is charged per ticket, not per transaction. This is an unavoidable administration cost and no proceeds from these fees will go to Canterbury Festival.


Concessions, where applicable, are detailed in the ticket price sections of each event listing. Proof of status may be required.

Refunds and Exchanges

Unfortunately tickets cannot be exchanged or money refunded.
