Baroque Passion presents an evocative and engaging programme of music featuring works by JS Bach, H. Purcell and T. Albinoni amongst others. JS Bach’s Oboe d amore concerto, provides an uplifting opening, with Stuart Orme being our Baritone soloist in Ich habe Genug, the work having been described as a ‘lullaby for eternal sleep’.( A Schweitzer) Stuart will also feature in Purcell’s pulsating aria ‘What Power art Thou’ sometimes now known as the Cold Song. The programme explores a rich variety of emotions and Albinoni’s Oboe Concerto in D minor leaves the listener in a positive upbeat mood.
