Not just a fairy tale with magic flutes and bells, but a comedy romance that takes us on a magical, spiritual and philosophical journey. Kent Chamber Opera’s production is set at night where the young heroine, Pamina, is swept away in her dreams to a world where nothing is as it appears. Characters from her everyday life becomes fantasy figures – her mother the Queen of the Night and her father the high priest Sarastro.
In her nightmare she meets her first love, Tamino, who is also following a challenging journey and fighting dragons. Their journeys collide and they face three challenges with the help of three ladies, three boys and some magical music. One of Mozart’s best loved operas brimming with wonderful tunes, loveable characters and comedy villains.
