Tickets £14 (Incl. £1.50 booking fee)
Domaine Evremond in Chilham is a joint venture between Champagne Taittinger and their UK distributor Hatch Mansfield. Tonight, Pierre Emmanuel Taittinger and Patrick McGrath CEO of Hatch Mansfield will give a talk on the background of the Domaine Evremond project in Kent. They will tell the story from the first planting in 2017 to the building of the winery with its underground cellars. As well as the methods used to limit the impact on the surrounding landscape within the Kent Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and the steps leading up to the opening of the winery this September. The talk will incorporate the science of wine and why Kent is the ideal county for growing vines of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier; the three grape varieties used for the traditional Champagne method of producing sparkling wine. The first wine will be released in the spring of 2025.
Talks will last approximately one hour followed by a Q&A.
