In a career spanning more than 45 years, worldrenowned forensic scientist Professor Angela Gallop CBE has worked on many hundreds of criminal investigations and has helped to solve some of the UK’s most high-profile criminal cases.
Using a wide range of skills and techniques – some of which she will refer to in her talk – she and her colleagues have provided the impartial and objective scientific evidence that has helped to convict the guilty and exonerate the innocent, including the killers of 18-year-old Stephen Lawrence and the wrongly convicted Cardiff Three. Whether it’s blood patterns, footwear marks, textile fibres, fragments of glass or data extracted from mobile phones for example, Angela Gallop shows that every contact really does leave a trace, and every trace can help to solve a crime
