Duration: Approximately 2 hours
Meeting Point: The Junction of Valley Road and The Causeway (opposite playpark)
This is a pleasant country walk with varied scenery and good views over the surrounding countryside. We will also be passing by some interesting and historic landmarks.
Our walk starts off following the course of the Nailbourne towards South Barham Farm. From here we walk up to follow a delightful woodland path through Clipgate Woods and on to Bedlam Wood.
We then head down to Denton, passing by Tappington Hall, Denton Church and Denton Court en route. From Denton we make for Broome Park where we have the opportunity to stop for a cuppa at the golfers’ outdoor kiosk before heading back on the footpath over the golf course and across to our starting point in Barham.
The walk is approximately 5.25 miles with one gentle incline of 45 metres spread over a distance of half a mile. If it is wet we would advise stout shoes or boots as there could be some muddy places.
There are no stiles on this walk, but should it rain, the walk leader will do an alternative and shorter walk which does include one stile.
Dogs on leads are welcome.
