All Festival events will be delivered in compliance with the latest Government guidance and regulations. Measures will be in place to improve audience safety and mitigate the risk of the spread of Coronavirus. We will be reviewing and updating our policies based on Government guidance, as it is released and as each step of the Roadmap is successfully delivered. We will make efforts to inform audience members of the measures in place in advance of their event, and will update this page accordingly.

If you have displayed Covid-19 symptoms in the 10 days prior to the event, have come into contact with somebody displaying symptoms or have been contacted by NHS Track and Trace and told to self-isolate – do not attend.

The following measures will be in place for all indoor Canterbury Festival events and will be updated as and when legislation changes:

  • All events will be operating at a substantially reduced capacity – please book in advance to avoid disappointment.
  • Our Box office will be processing online and phone bookings only. Please contact the Box Office on 01227 457568 if you are unable to book using one of these methods.
  • Designated seating with fixed bubble sizes will be in place for all events. We aim to maximise space between parties but will ensure that a minimum of 1+ metre is adhered to across participating venues.
  • To ensure that social-distancing is met, you cannot book with people outside of your household or single household bubble. The maximum bubble size is 6 people.
  • Ticket holders are urged to utilise our e-ticket and print at home service.
  • Ticket holders must arrive in their bubble and queue in a socially distant manner. Please do not socialise with other groups whilst in and around the venue.
  • In line with current legislation, contact details for all attendees will now be required. The Festival will contact you ahead of the event to request this information. If you are unable to provide this information customers will be required to check in with the NHS Track and Trace app on arrival at the venue or provide contact details for all members of your party to a member of staff. A QR code for each venue can be found at the entrance.
  • Arrival times maybe staggered for larger events – please ensure that you read communications from the Festival.
  • Bring a mask – this will be mandatory for indoor events. It is also required when queuing, using facilities and talking to staff members. By law, masks must securely fit round the side of the face covering both nose and mouth. Due to this, plastic visors are not suitable unless the wearer is exempt from wearing a face covering. If this is the case, please make staff aware when entering the venue.
  • All staff will be wearing masks.
  • Stewards will be on hand to help guide you to your seat. Please follow our one-way systems and signage.
  • When booking, your contact details will be required for track and trace purposes. Please ensure your details are up to date.
  • Regular cleaning will take place between performances and hand sanitiser will be readily available at key points.
  • Please be aware that due to the restrictions of specific venues and pinch points, events will take place without an interval.
  • Customers will be contacted in advance of their visit with specific venue information.

The following measures will be in place for all outdoor Canterbury Festival events and will be updated as and when legislation changes:

  • When attending outdoor events masks are not required by law but we do encourage their use. Please be considerate when moving around the venue and talking to Festival staff – adhering to 2m social distancing or 1m with a mask. Masks will be required when using the facilities or entering any indoor area.
  • One-way systems will be in place to facilitate entry and exit. Please follow our signage and Festival stewards.
  • Audience members are asked to observe suitable distancing for your group when choosing a position on the lawn, and ensure that all available space can be utilised by setting up on the lawn edges. Please respect social distancing guidelines when choosing a position or passing other audience members.
  • To ensure that social-distancing is met, the maximum bubble size is 6 people.
  • Ticket holders must arrive in their bubble and queue in a socially distant manner. Please do not socialise with other groups whilst in and around the venue.
  • Customers are asked to check in with the NHS Track and Trace app on arrival.
  • When booking, your contact details will be required for track and trace purposes. Please ensure your details are up to date.
  • Customers will be contacted in advance of their visit with specific venue information.
