New Tricks Project 2019

We are incredibly excited to share the New Tricks Project 2019 film – a short video detailing our work with over 200 adults aged 65+ in community centres around Canterbury.

Sessions were led by professional arts practitioners who delivered more than 30 free workshops throughout the year. Activities included screen printing, cyanotype making, drumming workshops, live performances and much more.

The project aimed to tackle social isolation, enabling individuals who struggle to visit the City Centre to take part in arts activities. Through working in groups, participants had the opportunity to get creative and forge new friendships with members of their community.

This project was delivered in Hersden, Barham, Querns and Chartham Community Centres.

We would like to thank Canterbury City Council for supporting the project, the participating Community Centres, and our amazing practitioners who delivered a year of engaging workshops.
