Marking the centenary year of the seminal Rhapsody in Blue, The BBC Big Band led by acclaimed conductor, band leader, and arranger, Barry Forgie, take to the stage for a swinging celebration of the music of George Gershwin.
Through a wonderfully diverse repertoire, the concert showcases the music of one of the greatest composers of the Twentieth Century – whose work would go on to become a core part of the ‘Great American Songbook’, and whose legacy and influence continues to define a classic era of music.
The evening will feature a sparkling selection of Gershwin’s most popular and acclaimed work, all specially arranged for Big Band and performed in the orchestra’s own inimitable swinging style. Expect an evening of truly world-class music.
