Join us for a day of FREE live music with bands from across the Canterbury district. The project will showcase talented musicians aged 14-21 in a professionally managed live-band staging.

Want to get involved? Contraband invites youth bands (14-21 yrs) to strut their stuff and raise the roof during a fully-funded and professionally staged music showcase as part of the Festival Public Engagement programme. A prize of £500 will be awarded in recognition of the best band performance, judged by: David Sefton (Artistic Director of the Gulbenkian Arts Centre and the founding Director of the RFH Meltdown Festival), Amanda McKeen (Canterbury Festival Interim Director) and Blake McCaskill (Event Promotor, City Sound Project).
