Tuesday 22 October, 8pm

Augustine Hall

Tickets £14 (Incl. £1.50 booking fee)

It's clear that with the increased
publicity and moves to enforce and
expand local and national legislation,
illegal wildlife trafficking is rapidly
shifting to digital platforms. Dr David L Roberts of the Durrell
Institute of Conservation and Ecology
University of Kent, wildlife inspector
and member of Interpol's Wildlife
Crime Working Group, discusses the
challenges of identifying these illegal
items, tracking down the criminals and
offers solutions to stem the tide.

David was an orchid specialist at the
Royal Botanical Gardens, Kew in which
he trained and worked alongside
law enforcement officers on the
identification of illegally traded orchids.
Since moving to the University of Kent,
he has worked on various aspects
of the wildlife trade, serving as the
Prevention Lead for the Cyber-enabled
Wildlife Crime Priority Delivery Group,
and as a member of Defra's Illegal
Wildlife Trade Advisory Group.

Talks will last approximately one hour followed by a Q&A.
