The Buckmore Park Karting Challenge Results
Race Results 2015
Another adrenalin fuelled Buckmore Park took place on the 14 May where friends and supporters of the Canterbury Festival battled to see who had the greatest need for speed.
This year saw 16 teams compete to prove themselves the fastest in a gruelling 90 minute endurance race. To add to the thrill, it was the wettest day of the month, but it certainly didn't stop play. Judging from the speed of laps below it seemed to add to the velocity!
To help with fundraising for the Canterbury Festival Spiegeltent, Buckmore Park brought in the bid for grid and buying of laps, allowing teams to move themselves up the table, or even to ruin their rival’s score! Generosity knew no bounds, and together with a raffle and an auction the event raised over £1,500 towards the Spiegeltent project, with that figure eligible to be matched by Arts Council England. However, in the interest of true sportsmanship, there was a genuine race, of which the results can be found below.
So, congratulations to Red Bull Racing on winning both the official and unofficial race three years in a row, and commiserations to our valiant runners up. But most importantly, thank you to Buckmore Park and our Festival Racers for making this an excellent evening.
