A Christmas Offering

Although the Canterbury Festival is over, and the cold weather approaches, the Bourne Consort are in town to warm hearts this Christmas. Led by musical director Matthew Raisbeck, Canterbury Festival welcomes the Bourne Consort to St Pauls’ Church for their annual Christmas Concert.

Formed in 2013, drawing members from across Canterbury and Ashford, this highly acclaimed group has gained a reputation across Kent for performing music that is as enjoyable to listen to as to sing. The consort sing works in a capella, ranging from medieval madrigals to pieces by modern composers in a variety of arrangements. This Christmas concert promises to showcase some very well-known pieces, there may even be a few surprises, and of course several opportunities to join in.

If that’s not enough to get you in the mood for Christmas, then the Canterbury Festival team has one more treat. Following the concert mince pies will be served along with Steve’s Marvellous Mulled Wine; non-alcoholic options will be available also. As things get back to some sort of normality joining the Bourne Consort at St Pauls’ Church provides the perfect opportunity to celebrate the beginning of advent, for the first real Christmas concert in two years.

An evening of spiritual and secular song awaits. Tickets for A Christmas Offering are available here or by calling the box office on 01227 457568. The event will take place at St Pauls’ Church, Dec 2, 7.30pm. Tickets are priced at £16.50 (Incl. booking fee).
