Here’s what’s coming up this spring

2022 is shaping up to be a memorable year. With planning for the Festival in full swing lets take a look at what’s on show in the coming months.

Fans of Welsh harmony have the perfect opportunity to witness the London Welsh Male Voice Choir’s first performance of 2022. Having performed in some of Britain’s most prestigious concert halls and cathedrals, this highly entertaining Choir will be in the Kent College’s Great Hall. Singing Welsh favourites and some new pieces to the Choir’s repertoire, this concert is one you won’t want to miss. The London Welsh Male Voice Choir will be coming to Kent College on February 19th, 7.30pm; in aid of Canterbury Forest of Blean Rotary’s charities Pilgrims Hospice and Canterbury Umbrella.

If musicals are more your thing, then join The University of Kent’s Musical Theatre Society, as they explore what makes a monster a man? The Hunchback of Notre Dame will be performed on Saturday March 19th, 7.30pm, Sunday March 20th, 2pm & 7.30pm in Kent College’s Great Hall. Touching on love, identity, hope and accessibility in a setting where those who are seen as different are seen as less important. This is an important story to tell, and you are invited to join them on this journey.

Fans of the Canterbury Choral Society are spoilt for choice as we head towards warmer weather in April and June. With two concerts on the horizon there’s plenty of opportunities to show your support for one of the most accomplished choral societies in Southeast England. First a performance of Fauré Requiem on April 30th, 7.30pm, then Beethoven: Missa Solemnis on June 18th, 7.30pm. It wouldn’t be a Canterbury Choral society performance without a magnificent setting. Both concerts will take place in the wonderful Canterbury Cathedral, for two nights of inspiring choral music.
