Pleasures of Past Times Creative Learning Project

What a fabulous day of research was shared by Year 1 Canterbury College graphics, photography, art, fashion & textile students, who had the opportunity to explore the David Drummond Pantomime collection, bequeathed to Special Collections, University of Kent.

Students and lecturers enjoyed the first of two specially tailored Research Master Classes to the Templeman Library, led by Beth Astridge (University of Kent Archivist) and Daniella Gonzallez (Project Archivist). Beth and the Special Collections team, selected artefacts from the panto collection that best suited the student subject areas; introducing them to the practice of collecting, archiving and the handling of rare artifacts. It was a rewarding experience and one sure to inspire their final year exhibition.

These visits have been organised by Public Engagement as a creative learning collaboration between Canterbury Festival, Canterbury College (CSVA) and Special Collections, University of Kent.
