Live music returns with the Festival Chamber Orchestra

We are excited to share that we are working with the Festival Chamber Orchestra to present three live events over May and June.

Taking place at Kent College’s stunning Great Hall, the Festival Chamber Orchestra invite you to experience live music in all its glory with three diverse events offering everything from Baroque to Motown.

The series begins with Baroque Passion on Sunday 23 May with Conductor Stephen Barlow, presenting an evocative and engaging programme of music featuring works by JS Bach, H. Purcell and T. Albinoni.

Join us for A Musical Tapestry on Sunday 30 May with David Rees Williams, Iain Ballamy and Ian Crowther. The concert will feature a reworking of classical works together with some Jazz inspired pieces, so you may hear Bach, Corelli and Purcell fused to Michel LeGrand.

Building on the success of Bach to Bowie, on Sunday 20 June the Festival Chamber Orchestra present Mozart to Motown via Getz with Polly Gibbons and saxophonist Paul Booth, who will perform Her from the iconic album Focus, by Stan Getz. The programme will include some popular and lesser known classical pieces together with popular tunes of the 1960’s, finishing with the Motown Sound.

The safety of our audiences, artists and staff is paramount and we are working closely with the venue and event organiser to ensure that all events are Covid-secure. Measures will include social-distanced bubbled seating, one way systems and audiences will be required to wear masks throughout. Click here to read our Covid-Secure measures.
